Curtain From a Former Vaudeville Theater Located in Wit's End Antique Shop on the Main Street of Henderson, Minnesota.

When six-year-old Jojo and I headed out to see Melanie and Crabby Dave on New Year's Day, I had no idea we would be returning with a splendid gift from Dave.  When I told him I was looking for a piece of music to provide the soundtrack for a video I was producing about Henderson, Minnesota, I couldn't imagine I would be bringing one home with me.

He also presented Jojo with a gift of his very own guitar pick.  Jojo had gotten a toy guitar for Christmas but it didn't come with a pick.  Can you imagine?  When Jojo returned home that evening, he showed the pick to his dad who started laughing.  "What?'  We all wanted to know.

When he handed the pick to me, I didn't see anything funny about it.  I think it said Peavey on it.  "No.  The other side."  And here was one of those silhouette women you see on the mud flaps of certain semi trucks.  Boys.

Anyway, the song Dave is lending MN Country Mouse is called Sleep Tight Jean Lynn, a tribute to a classmate who died young.  It has that slow, summer afternoon feeling to it, and is a pretty close match to the kind of day Melanie and I experienced when we took pictures last summer.  Click on the YouTube image entitled Henderson to listen to it, or click here to view on your computer's media player.

Before Jojo and I left, we had a toast for the New Year with Melanie and Dave.  We had the usual toasts to family, friends, love, world peace and then, six-year-old Jojo added his wish.  He toasted to . . . liverty.

I think that about sums it up.
