The warnings are out. The weather service says it looks like we'll be getting 12" - 20" of snow, driven by 30-mile per hour winds over this holiday weekend. So, God bless the travelers, the scheduled employees, and the emergency management folks who keep the state running smoothly while the rest of us are snug inside with our presents, food, and families.

My co-workers are getting antsy. I suppose I am too. It's not a popular view, but I get kind of excited about storms. A word of advise; don't say that out loud in front of your co-workers. They'll look at you like it's your fault we're about to get smacked by Mother Nature.

This is Minnesota after all. I mean, really. When was the last time we had a three-day blizzard? An old boy that rode on the elevator with me in my apartment building said it's going to be the biggest blizzard we've had in 30 years. After hearing that, I got myself a couple of movies and an extra half-pound of shaved turkey - you know, in case I get stuck inside.
